About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finish my studies, write a book and never stop exploring

ABOUT ME

I'm a young, fun person always looking for a good time. I enjoy travelling, exploring, reading and drawing. Currently, I'm a student at the University of Cape Town in my home country, South Africa. I study French Literature, English Literature and the History of Art. I'm really independent and have travelled and lived alone in foreign countries. As sociable as I am, I'm also always content to be by myself and explore a city, go to the beach or visit museums. For this reason, I think I'm a really easy guest. I'm also incredibly respectful and will abide by any rules or expectations of me. I LOVE cooking and would be more than happy to contribute to the food and cook meals for you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I'm travelling but when I get home I'd love to host anyone interested in exploring the beautiful city that is Cape Town!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new here and can't believe what a wonderful and useful site this is!

Interests

Travelling is my favourite thing to do, but as it is expensive, I also like to draw, read, go out, spend time and have drinks with my friends.I love the beach and the sun, and as Cape Town has a lot of both of these, I love my home city.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too hard! I love most arts movies, since I'm learning french I try to watch a lot of french films (sans les soustritres!)

My favourite music genre is rock/ folk rock and I was definitely meant to be born before the 60s/70s as all my favourite bands are from that era! We have some decent ones around today still though, but too many too mention. Led Zeppelin and Radiohead are probably still my ultimate favourites.

I love books about travel as they remind me of my passion for exploring. Shantaram is an undeniably great book and makes me want to go to India desperately! I study engish literature so have been exposed to the classics as well as great contemporary books. I like to give every author a chance.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling around Eastern Europe amazed me with its beauty and the remnants of the war.
Swimming off the Croatian coast was mindblowing.
One of the most amazing things I've seen in my life, I see everyday - it's Table Mountain in Cape Town, one of the 7 new natural wonders of the world and I love hiking to the top and looking over my home city.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have done courses in teaching English and feel very confident that I could help someone with this.

I speak intermediate french and could teach this to beginners.

Otherwise I think the best way to learn is through talking and engaging with others as we all have unique experiences every day and everyone knows something others don't.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, France, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Turkey, United Kingdom
