Firstly, to visit each continent, to understand more cultures.

ABOUT ME

Inquisitive and always in need of new adventures or challenges, I get bored way too easily (which isn't always good!). Friendly and interested in meeting new people, and trying new things in new places.

I like camping, cycling (usually slowly, hoping to find blackberries as an excuse to stop) and hiking, but eat too unhealthily to actually ever get really fit.

PHILOSOPHY

May as well have as many adventures as possible so that I have lots of stories to tell in my later years! Always better to have created a disaster and chaos by trying something than to have not bothered trying it. And anyway, risk taking usually brings great results!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New to all this at the moment, but fascinated by the possibilities, looks good!

Seeing tourist locations is always great in a new place, but finding the places where locals go, where the real local community is, is great - hence the need for a local guide!

I always enjoy going out (especially to pubs since I used to run them for a few years), sometimes to the same pubs which are either cheap, full of atmosphere or do great real ale!

I am always interested in a location's history, historical buildings and all the interesting places that can be hidden away.

Hopeless at horror movies, but enjoy films with an historical or political angle, or pretty much any British comedy.

Books - biographies mainly, read some fiction, mainly thrillers. Doesn't sound very exciting, but politics and history books interest me. I also buy and sell books, which means that I always have a vast number of them (always far more than I should have and taking up far too much space).

My music taste is not very developed and normally revolves around tacky commercial stuff, so I'm not that good at conversations about music!

I recently enjoyed a holiday to the Picos de Europa in Spain, and the view of the mountains out of the window was fantastic when waking up! Sort of saw the Northern Lights in Finland, and was able to see Berlin shortly after the Berlin Wall came down. Other interesting experiences were the slum tour in Mumbai and my travels to other Indian cities.

Not sure what I can teach.... Unless you want to know about pouring pints, British politics or how to stack 100,000 books in a small an area as possible. But that might be a start! I can also talk for hours about philosophy if someone wants to engage :)
