Why I’m on Couchsurfing

(see "About Me") I love to travel, but it's So expensive! When I go places, I want to meet the local people Anyway, & this seems like one of the ways to do that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wouldn't say it's Amazing, but I've traveled a bit by myself. I'd say my best achievement is being resilient! 😊

This sounds hippy, & I do apologize for the length of it (I hadn't slept the night before), but it's true. 😊
Traveling broadens our minds. It helps us better understand ourselves & others, & the more understanding we have, the better chance we have of getting along & living happier lives.
Love for each other is everything.

Part of respecting ourselves is continuing to be kind & doing what is right, even when we feel wronged. When we respond poorly, we give up our peace, & by striking back in anger, we contribute to Both our declines. Anyone can be nice when they're having a good day & they're being treated well. "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."

It's good to try & remember that everyone believes what they do & lives like they do for a Reason, AND Most people aren't Trying to be jerks. NO one knows all the ins & outs of what brought each of us to the place we are now except us, and even We can't comprehend it all. It's an entire Lifetime of experiences (or lack thereof) played out in the body & mind of someone who is Unique & who only has Themselves & those around them as a reference point. Parents like to point out that kids don't come with instructions, & each kid is Different, so what works for one model doesn't always work with the model that comes out 2 years later. NONE of us got an owners manual for the body & mind we've been given.

The goal here is to try & figure things out for ourselves & be the best person We can be. It has all just been a bunch of trial & error that got man to this point, & thank God for those who took the hits so I can learn from their mistakes & not have to make them myself (ha!). And thank God for those who figured out what Does work - at least for me. "We stand on the shoulders of giants." There isn't a single person who got to where they are all by themselves. We're all in the rock tumbler together, mixed in with life's "grit." We're banging around, bumping into one another & knocking off each other's rough edges -being sure to make a loud ruckus about the unfairness of it all, when if we will guard our hearts & Use life's harsh grit, we will be better For it. Easy to say. We need to support each other. So when when you think you have something to contribute that might help someone else find their way, you should share that. If they don't accept it, that doesn't make what you've learned or what you've experienced or what you believe Any less powerful, so don't let your ego get in the way & tarnish that experience of you sharing what you did with them in love. ❤️
