About Me

Greetings everyone,

My name is Juma and I am 31 years old native from the beautiful paradise island called Zanzibar. I decided to start a school here to provide English and computer classes for young local people. I believe these subjects to be crucial for the success and professional development of the locals. The students come to our classes before and after they attend regular school.

We enjoy hosting English-speaking volunteers who can help in several different ways. Volunteers do not have to be native English-speakers as long as they are confident in conversational English.

Note: I provide a good offer for giving you free accommodation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hosting international volunteers in different countries

What I Can Share with Hosts

Travelers will learn a lot about Swahili and Zanzibar culture while here. Staying with Swahili people is a glorious way to learn what their life is like.

We teach basic Swahili classes every day to our volunteers as well as some of our local students. And the host families love to help volunteers practice their Swahili as well. They also like to learn new phrases in our volunteers’ native languages too.

There are opportunities to watch and help our hosts prepare meals, bread, tea and juices.

Sometimes the host families can take volunteers to Stone Town or to other local villages to see and experience even more things. The people who live in our village are very friendly and love to talk to visitors. There is a lot to learn about Swahili life from these conversations as well.

Finally, there are many beautiful and interesting places nearby where volunteers can visit as tourists in their free time:

Safari Blue
Prison Island
Spice Farm
Stone Town Tour
Jozani Forest
Dolphin Tour
Snorkeling
Village / City Tour
