About Me

I wish I could learn everything about everything, so I try to work on that in my free time. I read a lot, knit a lot, travel as much as I can.

My dad always says "She who dies with the best stories, wins," which I guess is the closest thing I have to a life philosophy. I'm just jumping off cliffs, hoping I learn to fly along the way.

(Metaphorically, not literally)

(I'm very afraid of heights)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've surfed a bunch and loved it, and really enjoy going to meetups whenever I'm in a new city.

I think my best CS experience to date was arriving in Cairo and immediately being whisked off for dinner on the Nile with a boat full of new friends.

In general, I've had a blast! I've made some great friends, had some amazing experiences, and I'm constantly trying to convert friends to CS.

Interests

Fresh tomatoes, dinner parties, pneumatic tubes, long stories, complicated things explained in an interesting way, naps, Rube Goldberg machines, tea, eggs, emerging technologies, used bookstores, cephalopods, dancing, blanket forts.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books I've loved recently include Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore, Bel Canto, and Daytripper.

Most of the TV/movies I watch involve superheros, teenagers, old British people, young British people in the past or future, romance, animation, adults who are confused about life, or some combination thereof.

When it comes to music, my top five can't-live-without-them are: Josh Ritter, Hey Marseilles, The Avett Brothers, Regina Spektor, and Brandi Carlile.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hopping the fence into the sanctuary at Delphi after dark with a bottle of wine and some new friends.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to knit, swing dance, whistle with your hands, cook really good scrambled eggs

What I Can Share with Hosts

If there's something America-specific you'd like me to bring, let me know! Otherwise I'll share stories, laughs, food
