ABOUT ME

All about me. Well, for starters: my name's Junesse and I'm a cheerful young woman.
I've shared my youth with my two brothers and my sister and grew up building booby-traps to chase away construction workers in the neighborhood. I was raised bilingual (dutch-english) and visit my family every year, who lives abroad, in Ireland.
I live my life with my optimism by my side. I am quite ambitious and pretty much adventurous. Won't say no to a new challenge. Most of the time I try to help out others (cf. my work as a nurse), but tend to get carried away by all of it.
On the other hand I can be just a wee bit stubborn (due to my Irish roots).
I don't like being discriminated, nor do I like seeing other people getting discriminated.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe it's all about what you put in it yourself. Other people are able to play an important role in your life, but when it get's down to it: it's up to you. Happiness is a choice that requires effort. And if somebody is able to give, then he/she will get it back in some kind of way at some time or space. No doubt about it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My goal in becoming a member of the Couch Surfing Community, is to help young, travelling people out. Because I'm still a student and live under the parental roof, I'm not able to put people up for the night. Yet I'm more than willing to give people a guided tour around Antwerp! Help people out by providing useful addresses, and a cup of coffee/tea/hot chocolate to warm up or to get people to feel at ease after their journey!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I prefer drama and thrillers, and alternative, local movies.
Music: any music of which the lyrics make sense or the rhythmic beat instigates to dance! To me music is an international language that breaks through borders & countries. The intensity and vigor of music speaks out loud! Being able to dance, and dance like no one is watching is the representation of my inner-me without boundaries! Dancing is about who you want to be, at that moment!
Books: I find it hard to put down a specific list of books I like. It all depends on the story, the writer's style and my mood.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Me, seated in a excavated tree, in the middle of the amazone on the Surinam-River. Nothing but the overwhelming presence and strength of nature surrounding me. Talk about feeling small and humble.
