ABOUT ME

I am active, open-minded, and love exploring.

I'm working toward become a healer; I am in yoga teacher training and applying to nursing school. I am working as a nursing assistant in a pediatric hospital and also volunteer as a back up doula for a community health clinic to be a labor support to women who often do not have close family ties or a strong sense of local community support.

After graduating with my public health degree I spent a 4 month "personal honeymoon" back-packing through South America and fell in love with the language, people, and tremendous beauty around me. I spent a month in Quito volunteering in an adolescent maternity clinic; I am interested in global health work long term.
After returning I received my certifcation as a yoga instructor, I was idealizing teaching yoga in hostels abroad, then I went to Spain for a month to venture and keep my uncle company as he sold his apartment on the coast, and returned to an amazing opportunity to learn at Seattle Children's Hospital.

Needless to say this has put a crimp in my travel bugging ways, but I'm planning a month long trip to Japan in September that should help.

I'm down for most anything, and love to get to know both people and places little quirks that make them both unique and lovable.

I really believe that people and experiences that come into your life are there for a reason and that there is always something to be gained, if present in your self and in the moment.

I would love to explore new places, cook, go to shows/clubs/plays/poetry, anything people are into I'm happy to explore.

Happy to help out around the house or whatever is most functional for people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only couch surfed once in nearby Portland, OR with a friend. I am new to the experience, but excited about it!

Interests

Travel. Yoga. Swimming, hiking, bicycling, scuba, exploring in all forms.

I enjoy reading, film, music, and dancing.

I love to cook and enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee.

I do love to go out and cause a ruckus, but am generally well-behaved :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a pretty wide range of interests in this space.

The only music I really avoid is hard-core metal, screamo, etc.
I most often find myself at indie-rock, acoustic, hip hop shows, but enjoy jazz, classical, most genres.

Books is so varied. Humor, historical, whateva

Movies - all over the place - I tend to like quirky indie films displaying the comical, at times uncomfortable, experience that is human life

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got to swim with hammerhead sharks and penguins in the Galapagos - that was a pretty incredible experience I feel blessed to have had while on this earth!

I'm a yoga instructor, swim coach and instructor, and open to most forms and modes of communication and learning.
