Well to start off I was born in a wonderful country, Costa Rica! In my childhood my parents moved to the states and I was raised in Miami since I was 7 or 8. I did all my school over there but when I finished high school I decided to move back to my country and now I'm a really active traveler within Costa Rica.

I'm a really outgoing person that likes to meet people around the world. I talk a lot so it makes it easy for me to connect with someone fast usually.

I am a casual drinker so if you put me to choose between a place where there is some music and you can have sit and drink a beer vrs a place where there is really loud music with no place to sit and talk, I would choose sitting and drinking a beer.

On my free time on work days I like to go workout either by boxing or doing some crossfit. On weekends, you don't see me around much and it's because I'm usually or running, biking or in the deep mountain.

Currently I'm in the mission of reading one book every 15 days and so far I'm loving the experience, I cant believe I was missing of so much, how dumb.

In Costa Rica I know a lot of great spots to go connect with nature. To me going to see waterfalls, volcanoes or just wild mountains is just a therapy from all the workload during the week. Doing hiking was what opened my eyes to say, hey Juan there is plenty of mountains to climb so hurry!

Since I'm from Costa Rica I'm a really big soccer fan. My favorite teams around the world are Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Deportivo Saprissa from my country. So if there is opportunity once to go to the stadium I always take it ☺️

Currently Im living alone with just a cat but I'm 2 minutes away from my families house. Just needed my own space 😀

I want to keep learning from people around the world, seeing how there is always good people around to talk with. I believe that there is a lot of hope for the world with good people around.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well my main goal In couchsurf is to learn a lot of the culture of people around the world. In addition to that I will like to show people where is Costa Rica since many don't know where it's even located and also to teach them about our culture.

With couchsurf I will be able to also see places that are not just where everyone goes and instead going to places many people don't have the opportunity to see because they like segregation from locals.

With couchsurf I also expect to make friends around the world and hosting them in my house and the other way around.

Currently with couch surf I have been about 5 years with the account but i Just used it when that spirit of adventure woke up on me but I never went passed looking. This time is different and I'm all willing to get my apartment ready to host people from around the world.

Recently I had the best experience with 2 great girls from China that we met and had a small tour around the capital of Costa Rica. That experience opened my eyes and told me, Juan start hosting more people and show them the wonders that Costa Rica has!

Interests

Some time ago I was a very sedentary person until one day I was invited to a small hike. I went to the hike with a lot expectancies of myself but that day I was hit with reality, I was a person with no physical condition. So from that day one I decided to change my life and started to do more hikes, once I felt comfortable with then I decided to start running. Running for me it was a pain in the..... But now with time and patience, running is something I enjoy. I did my first 10k race in 2016 and in that point I decided I wanted more. So I enrolled in boxing classes / crossfit and now I have seen the change in my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well this is a hard one to answer. I believe I have done many things that to me are really amazing but if I had to choose one I would choose hiking to one of the highest peaks in Costa Rica. That day it took us about 7 hours to go up the mountain and come back. For me it was a big accomplishment knowing the sedentary life I used to live.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well in couchsurf I want to learn about experiences people have had around the world and maybe with a drink hear all about them.

I haven't had that many experiences around the world yet but I have plenty of stories to tell about my local trips and my trips to Nicaragua that BTW Is an awesome county as well.

When I get the opportunity to travel and meet other couchsurfers I will like to help someone practicing Spanish.

Well to hosts I can help my practicing some Spanish. I will be glad to help around with something that is to my reach and my knowledge. I'm a really easy going person so it will be nice to meet people and hear stories with a great beer.
