About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live, have fun, and learn what I can along the way.
ABOUT ME
I'm a student of the natural sciences and am always eager to travel and make new friends. I'm optimistic, outgoing, and open to most everything, and I am always looking forward to the journey ahead.
PHILOSOPHY
I aim for a personal philosophy that values self-development, social awareness, and moderation in all things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For now, I am just a surfer. Once I move out of my current dorm situation, I will have a couch to donate to the surfers that roam through Arkansas!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couchsurfed once in Roanoke, Virginia. It was a fantastic time and our host was incredible. It was apparent she knew Roanoke well and never missed an opportunity while we were there to show off the charm and beauty of the city. We were visiting for the Rally to Restore Sanity held by Jon Stewart in D.C., and though our stay was brief, our trip wouldn't have been the same without our kind and awesome host.
Interests
I love science! I spend my free time understanding the philosophy and art of experiment and the knowledge it beholds. I enjoy nature and never miss an opportunity to appreciate it in the unique ways I manifest during my spare time. Enjoying the company of friends, self reflecting, and living a lifestyle that engages my recognition of the awesome forces of nature are what make me happy.

Music, Movies, and Books
Of movies, throw me anything Sci-Fi like Blade Runner or Star Trek or slice of life like Mallrats or Clerks and I'll love it.
Of music, I'm a huge fan of Blink-182, Third Eye Blind, the Aquabats, or most revival ska or 3rd wave ska bands. In addition, Imogen Heap, Boards of Canada, Passion Pit, and Deadmau5 are among my other favorites.
Books: Anything by Ray Bradbury, such as the Martian Chronicles or Fahrenheit 451. Fantasy Sci-fi such as Dune or other harder sci-fi such as the Foundation count among my favorite novels. Nonfiction authors such as Richard Dawkins, E.O. Wilson, and Richard Feynman are my absolute favorites. Books written by these authors have affected me in irreversible ways. I enjoy the writings of LaoZi, Confucius, and Marcus Aurelius as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The time I spent in Taiwan is something I could never live without. As a student there, I engaged in rituals, ate the best (and most bizarre) food of my life, and met the most wonderful people on Earth. I'm an Arkansan who has touched the sacred Taiwan idol of Matzu, has understood the art of Tai Chi, and, most importantly, has claimed stinky tofu as their favorite food. Without my days of living Taiwanese and the silent moments that lay in between the blissful and perfect moments there, I would understand less and live unknowing of a broader sense of what life has to offer.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to teach you Chinese! If you have the time, I can teach you Tai Chi, Chinese calligraphy, or some good Chinese cooking it if it's something you're interested in. I'm interested in painting and culinary art, and am willing to learn of these from all sources.
