Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used to live in a huge Victorian house in Manchester called Percy Palace where we hosted people all the time, must have dealt with over 200 couchsurfers during my time there. The house has been gutted and rebuilt into some soulless student digs but the spirit of the Palace will never die.
I haven't used couchsurfing for a few years now but as I'm off to the USA I thought it would be a good way of meeting cool people.

Interests

I like getting lost in art galleries, painting my nails, meeting new people, trying new food, exploring cities and seeing live music.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Fountain, Fight Club, Alien, The Tin Drum, Mike Leigh's Naked, Peeping Tom, Clue, The Cable Guy, Sightseers, Naked Lunch and This is England are films I can watch over and over and over and over again.

I like a lot of music, mostly dark and gloomy music but also old motown and stuff that is fun to dance to. Used to work in a rock music studio as a sound engineer and also DJ on a regular basis. Favourite bands are The Mars Volta, Ufomammut, Shellac, EL-P and RTJ, Brainiac, Melvins, Swans, Dead Kennedys, Liars, Butthole Surfers, Chelsea Wolfe and The Jesus Lizard.

Favourite book is probably Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. I loved The Goldfinch too and I've been reading a lot of latin american literature since I was little and Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Jorge Luis Borges and Isabelle Allende are probably the authors that made the biggest impression on me. I enjoy graphic novels a lot too. Almost forgot Harry Potter! Never forget Harry Potter

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done a lot of amazing things in my life but laying on the Malecónwall in Cuba in the middle of the night, counting the stars, listening to the waves, tasting the salt from the water on my lips is something I will never forget.
