ABOUT ME

From Chicago, love the Bears. Went to Wesleyan in CT, butts for life. Lived in Boston, love the Red Sox. Then lived in Ecuador, I think I'm a Barcelona fan?

How do you capture "all about you"? Here are some tidbits...

i love taking pictures, but i hate taking out my camera. which leaves me in an obvious predicament.

i love food, but i am not a foodie. i also take lots of pictures of food. you might say i am a food pornographer.

i am a total sucker for christmas (the secular kind). i will never get sick of xmas carols, walking around the city in the freezing cold to see decorations, making snowmen, warm cocoa afterwards, spirit of generosity, colorful wrappings. love love love it. it's truly a magical season. if only it were year round...

i am big on DIY (do it yourself). that isn't to say i'm any good at it. but i love trying to make things myself rather than buying it. it makes for a fun afternoon =)

i hate wet shoes. which is why often when it rains i will walk in flip-flops instead of boots. which is also why i often slip and fall when it rains.

i love singing in the car. but i once got into a minor accident by getting too into the moment of the chorus of "killing me softly" by the fugees. i now sing with more precaution when behind the wheel.

i love books and everything about them. i love reading them; i love turning pages; i love beautiful book binds. and yes, i totally judge a book by it's cover and title.

i also like to moonlight as a wedding planner.

i like touching everything. never take me to a museum where i can't touch anything.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently without a couch to offer. But those that are genuinely interested in meeting and getting to know Riobamba and people, I'd love to meet for a drink. Do NOT contact me to tell me I have pretty lips (though that's a fun story...)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Great! I would never have met some of the great people I now know w/o CS! I've developed life-long friendships as well as those "friends for a time" who are equally amazing. I couldn't tell you just one story b/c there are loads to tell, even before I joined CS!

movies: hmmm... off the top of my head: Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Stranger Than Fiction, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, everything Pixar, King of Kong...

music: love music. every kind. But I think closest to my heart is that good ol' classic rock. The kind of stuff that makes you cry when you hear an awesome guitar solo.

books: hmm wow that list is long. I find myself often talking about Mountains Beyond Mountains, Urban Injustice, and The Red Tent. Favorite fiction I might say is The Time Traveler's Wife. Also my most recent fiction read. My secret hobby is collecting extraordinary children's books.
