ABOUT ME

Juracy: I was born in Mirante do Paranapanema in 1949, on the São Paulo state, and lived there until 12 years old. My father (José Honorato) was killed in 1952 by the police of the Vargas government, because he was a leader of the peasants for the agrarian reform; due of this, I was created on the childhood by my grandparents. In 1962, I went to study on a agrarian internal school on Espírito Santo do Pinhal (near Campinas), my parents (my mother Marina with my father in law João) cold not create me because they were communists militants against the brazilian military dictatorship (1964-1984). This internal school had a good level of education, I went every month to Campinas to stay with my parents on that period. In 1970, I went to Moscow-URSS to study bachelor in physics on Patrice Lumumba University, It was a very nice experience of life, and the university has exceptional level of education on my area. I finished the under graduate 1976, but I could not come back to Brazil due the hard moment of the dictatorship, then a friend visited me to work in Venezuela, then I left to there. In Venezuela I got married with Catalina and lived there until 1986, I worked teaching on university. Then I left to Boa Vista (north of Brazil, Roraime state), there I teach on university and high school; Roraima is a very nice place, it is very isolated, but has excited entertainment, p.e. to pass a weekend on

PHILOSOPHY

Teach is a great responsibility, we have the power of to form a bad and good person. We should give a good lesson of physics and Spanish, but we need to teach the importance of the politic, because only knowing the politic we can look at a better quality of life of everybody. We also teach on the MST (landless movement, or Movement without land) in Santa Trezinha do Itaipú (near Foz do Iguaçu). MST is a organization that look at the agrarian reform. Brazil is a country with very bad distribution of land.
We also like to drink a beer talking about: physics, philosophy, politics, culture, history, etc. It works with the MST people is a wonderful experience.

WE DON'T LIVE IN FOZ DO IGUAÇU, we live in Medianeira (town with 40 thousand people), located 55 km from Foz do Iguaçu. We live alone, Juracy and Catalina, in a house with 3 bedrooms, and we can offer 2 bedrooms to the guests.
