About Me

• I am an open-minded, active and passionate student | knowledge junkie | future social impact entrepreneur
• I'm currently working as a business developer at a small startup called Kontentino, which is a social media tool for streamlining the whole social media content creation and approval workflow. I decided to spend my next 2 months in Asia, where I'm supposed to work as a volunteer at Impact Hub in Phnom Pen. I'll be helping local social impact businesses in building promising marketing strategies.
• I recently finished my internship @ ESET NA in San Diego, within Slovak Proffesionals Abroad - LEAF internship program. I decided to travel after my internship and got a taste of a real backpacking - travelled across California (climbing up to top of Half Dome in Yosemite) flew over Pacific to explore beautiful Kauai island (swam under incredibly beautiful waterfalls), breathed atmosphere from several US and Canadian cities (San Francisco, Buffalo, Toronto, Montreal) and most importantly I met so many incredible people during my travels.
• I love traveling and I am really enthusiastic about meeting new people. I have already traveled both coasts of the USA, Canada as well as majority of the European countries. My next travel plans head to Asia, especially Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar.
• I am interested in startups, technologies, entrepreneurship, architecture, community projects, marketing, culture, history. I love hiking (you know I am from Slovakia) and this year I have finally started with running so if you are looking for a running sparing partner, count with me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I found a passion for traveling when I left my country for the first time longer than 3 weeks. I met my friend and he told me about this network since I hadn't heard about that before. My first impression was incredible. I met so many people from all over the world and even without having any international experience by that time, I was able to talk about so many things that I had in common with them.
That is why I have decided to travel more, to explore, to meet new people and mainly to be inspired by my all experience on this journey.
After my Spanish experience I worked in the USA for 4 months and the same thing happened to me. I was excited and eager to travel even more. And that is why I applied for my exchange semesters in Victoria, BC, Canada and also Lille, France. As a result, I got to know with so many people from all over the world and I don't see any cultural difference anymore.

I think of Couchsurfing as another way for me to travel a lot again. I do believe that being part of such community of people is the most enriching thing in my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently I have many amazing stories and moments from my travels such as climbing Half Dome cables in Yosemite, Exploring Na Pali Coast at Kauai Island, Watching sunrises and sunsets from really cool spots all around National Parks.

I have also started a community project called Bookpoint. It consists Of free public library that is placed in the old reconstructed telephone booth. So basically you bring your book that you would like I share with others and you borrow another one that you like. It's based on trust and reliability of the community. Bookpoint consists right now out of 3 book places - the aforementioned one, another one that is placed at the train station and the last one is made in the old tree that was destroyed during big storm in the city.
Regarding this project I have also organized series of literary musical evenings - organized on the regular basis on Friday evenings, a public, open-air gallery of oversized old pictures representing a historical look of the city.
