ABOUT ME

Adventurous, independent, laid back, small town girl from Saskatchewan, Canada that loves to travel, meet people and have new adventures.

I'm happy to go out, grab a few drinks and party but equally as comfortable having a cup of tea or coffee at home with a good book.

As a solo female traveler, I'm an active person and always up for anything!

My philosophy can be summed up in this quote by one of my favorite authors, Chris Abani.

I love meeting people, learning about other cultures and trading travel stories!

Interests

I'm a huge foodie (grew up working in a restaurant), lover of live music and I'm currently enjoying a new love affair with spoken word/slam poetry.

I have a degree in cultural anthropology so I love talking about different cultures, politics, religions, social justice, international aid/development issues, and environmental sustainability.

I also like to kick back, grab a few drinks (beer, wine, coffee, tea) and trade stories and have great conversations.

Travel is the only thing that I've ever committed to!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I'll watch anything but stray more toward comedies or quirky movies. Some of my favourite movies are The Grand Budapest Hotel, Big Fish, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, all LOTR and Star Wars...and many more.

Music: I listen to a bit of everything - jazz, r&b, folk, indie, hip-hop, country, classical, house/edm...it all depends on the mood.

Books: I have some favourite authors such as Jane Austen, Khaled Hosseini, Paul Coelho, and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie but am always searching for new books/authors. Some of my favourite books are: Pride & Prejudice, A Wrinkle In Time, LOTR, series, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
I am currently trying to read all of the Wheel of Time series.

Teach, Learn, Share

I absolutely love to bake (brownies, cookies, cakes...you name it) and am always willing to share recipes, teach people, or bake for them and let them enjoy.

I'm always willing to help around the house - great with plants and animals.

I am a tidy, low maintenance guest and don't need much to keep me happy. Also...if you're interested in travel stories, I could write a book!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love teaching people how to cook/bake. I've also done a fair of working/traveling internationally so I'm happy to swap stories, give advice, especially as a woman going solo.
