About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To experience life through the wisdom of others.
ABOUT ME
Hi there! My name is Franklin, and I am a 26-year-old grad student at the University of Southern Mississippi. I have a B.S. in geology and certification in GIS, and I am currently working towards my M.S. in marine science with a focus in applied geological oceanography. (Basically, I play in the mud and fiddle around with computers.) I am very passionate about life, people, animals, and nature. I love to do things outdoors, especially when it involves kayaking, camping, or hiking in unique landscapes. I am very close to my family, and I never meet a stranger. My friends tell me I am also crazy (in a spontaneous way), funny, nerdy, charming, social, trustworthy, and generally just an all-around nice guy, but I just prefer to think of myself as someone who enjoys the company of others, experiencing life from others' perspectives, and helping out or making a difference in the world around me however I can.
PHILOSOPHY
Treat others as you wish to be treated. To believe in others, you must believe in yourself. You will fall down and get hurt: get up, brush yourself off, learn from your mistakes, and try again.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted but have not traveled.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I hosted my first surfers in 2011, and it made me a Couchsurfing fan.
Interests
This could be a huge list. Living with diagnosed ADHD, my interests can change from day-to-day. Generally, I have always been interested in: education, computers, activism, travel, politics (environmental issues, civil rights, etc.), nature, gaming (PC, Xbox 360, board and card games), movies, animals, and the arts (theater, music, art, etc.). One of my biggest interests, though, is actually listening to others and learning about their interests.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Life itself is amazing. The people, the places, the experiences, I am amazed every day. There is so much to see and experience and so little time.
While this may not be amazing, I am one of the few people I know who has ever been able to say, "I have stepped foot in all 48 states of the contiguous U.S. before I was 18."
Countries I’ve Visited
Bahamas
Countries I’ve Lived In
