Hello!

I am a friendly type who enjoys learning from new people, places and ideas. It broadens the mind they say! When I get the time I like to get outdoors or catch up with friends for a bev and/or boogie. At the moment I'm bunkered down working in Ballarat, Victoria but I'll take any excuse to escape off on an adventure!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've found couchsurfing provides a more authentic experience of a place and gives an insight into the lives of the people that live there. Locals also tend to offer better knowledge than any guidebook and can share hidden gems/experiences you wouldn't normally get to see!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a wide range of music from The War on Drugs to Khruangbin to Motor City Drum Ensemble.
My favourite movies include The Intouchables and Spirited Away.
My favourite author at the moment is Haruki Murakami.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteered at a self-sustainable Guesthouse on a remote island off the west coast of Canada. The guesthouse was surrounded by thick forest in a beautiful harbour and only accessible by floatplane. They had a big vegetable garden and we caught and ate fish, crabs, scallops and all manner of other goodies! In our time away from collecting firewood and running repairs we were able to go hiking, sea kayaking and even visit ancient Haida totem poles. It was truly spectacular!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A curry, risotto, pasta or any manner of yummy dishes! Would also love to trade stories of travels and adventures :)
