About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Getting back on track to grabbing life by the hojos

ABOUT ME

The power of positivity compels me. I find everything fascinating and have surrounded myself with people that nurture my moth to a flame fascination with life. Recently I have been concentrating a lot on upping our sideshow game, Magic: The Gathering, Event Photography, and trying not to let my many projects slip through the cracks. So, what interesting stuff are you into (no really, I'm interested : )

PHILOSOPHY

The Power of Positivity Compels Me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I volunteer. Seriously, that's it, I volunteer. That got me into The Nekropolis Ball, UGWA, The Great Horror Campout, and Burning Man. You volunteer for things and you may not be able to boogie down as hard as you wanted but you get a deeper connection with whatever is going on if you have a hand in making it happen.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nothing from the website (yet) but tons of experience during my life. Bit of advice: police up your mess, practice setup and teardown so your host doesn't have to wait on you for anything, offer to help (nobody wants to do dishes or take out the trash or tidy up but the more hands helping the quicker it'll get done and your host won't think you're a lazy ass to boot : )

Interests

Lol here we go. Right now I am working on my part of the sideshow act: widening my sinuses for blockhead, practicing juggling "objects", working on the grinder cigarette trick, and hoping to stay on target while smashing cinder blocks on MSLaura's chest. I'm also trying to rebuild my Magic: The Gathering binder, my type 1 deck, and my modern deck. Thanks to fb.com/AdventureTag2013 I've been getting into a lot of random weirdness and that has definitely been interesting. Looooooove photography, especially event photography: we've been going to the Underground Wrestling Alliance, The Box, Club Apparition, and a ton of one offs for event photography (loved having the camera at Burning Man and The Great Horror Campout). Ooo and I love doing zombie makeup and doing zombie events (bar crawl, museum nights, 5k obstacle course, cemetery photography, etc, etc)

Music, Movies, and Books

Love em. Recently the movies have been mostly horror (Return of the Living Dead, A Nightmare on Elm St 3, V/H/S, Creepshow) but I am a huge fan of movies in general (Full Metal Jacket, Nowhere, The 7th Seal, Trading Places, Some Like It Hot, Ball of Fire, District 9, Blade Runner).

I'm also a fan of a wide range of music. Recently we've been going to several Goth/Industrial nights and I've been really enjoying a lot of what I've heard there (45 Grave, Daniel Dax, CombieChrist, Alien Vampire, Sisters of Mercy). I spent a good chunk of my youth listening to primarily 84 hardcore (Minor Threat, Teen Idles, Black Flag, Angry Samoans, Reagan Youth) and then I started in with Psychobilly (The Brains, The Matadors, Koffin Kats, Mad Marge and the Stonecutters), Surf Guitar (Dick Dale, The Trashmen, The Coffin Daggers, Daikaiju, The Bomboras) and Hip Hop (A Tribe Called Quest, Leaders of the New School, Hilltop Hoods, Watsky, Jiggmastas). What music do you recommend?

For books I've recently been reading a bit of biography (American Hardcore and Homage to Catalonia) and I'm always a fan of Douglas Addams and Terry Pratchett. Beat novels were a big part of my life for a while there but not so much any more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I do fun stuff fairly often so probably best to ask me : )

Teach, Learn, Share

Ooo fun. We're looking to learn more sideshow acts. especially with fire, but we love to learn: whaddya got? I can show you how to juggle, how to desensitize your nasal cavity by using a q-tip, or you could relax for a spell on MSLaura's bed of nails. We can also show you how to become a quick and dirty zombie.
