Overview
About Me
I left England about 22 years ago and travelled around the world visiting about 20 countries. About 12 years ago i set up a Thai company and bought 6 rai (about 3 and a half acres) of land on the beach, near Lang Suan in Chumphon. I've now been working hard (pretty much on my own) and living on my land for about 3 years. In this time I've built a hut I lived in for 2 years, dug a well, installed water and electricity and am now living in a house I designed and built. I would like to open an organic bed and breakfast with herbal sauna and some various different accommodation that i will build myself using different construction techniques, such as rammed earth, mud bricks wattle and daub etc.... within the next year or two. I also plan to have some tree houses, a giant Tee Pee, an Earthship type house and various other types of accommodation that blend in seamlessly with my environment.
I love to experience things in life and I've done pretty much everything that I've come across whether it's sky diving, white white water rafting, doing a backwards bungee jump into the sea whilst in drag, dressed up as a Teletubbie /Batman/Superman/Pokémon/Prince Charles/Santa etc.... (children's entertainer), been a taxi driver, English/arts teacher, yoga teacher for kids, tree surgeon, sales executive and done many other jobs. I'm basically a jack of all trades, who's willing to try anything.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new and interesting people, and share some experiences.
Interests
I have spent the last 5 years designing and building my house by the sea. I'm now living in it but it will be a while till I'm totally finished, as it seems there is always something else to do or make. I also teach in local schools, but hope to give that up and focus on starting a company that produces coconut oils that are infused with different herbs and spices, as well as building more accommodation on my land.
My goal is to be as self sufficient as possible, so I also want to start growing fruit and vegetables on my land. The trouble is I only have one pair of hands and so much to do. I know it will get done, I just don't know when......

Music, Movies, and Books
The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell
Shogun by James Clavell
The Electric Cool Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe
A Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
Dub reggae, funk, celtic, and anything else that gets my foot tapping.
I like cooking and experimenting with new dishes, and creating a western-Thai fusion of flavours. Thai food is great but I also love Mexican, Japanese, Indian and some good old English grub, as well as pretty much anything that tickles my taste buds.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Designed and built my own house on the beach in Thailand.
