About Me

I grew up in a small town, and have been traveling all my life. I am a lawyer based in Los Angeles, USA, where I have lived for the last nine years. I have my own law practice, which gives me the flexibility to travel. I am very active and like sports of all kinds. I love being on the road and meeting new people -- having spontaneous, genuine, off-the-beaten track experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to continue meeting the people of the world and having enjoyable experiences, whether through hosting or visiting others. Couchsurfing seems like a good forum to do this.

Interests

Traveling (backpacker style, hopefully off-the-beaten-path), languages, surfing, racquetball, basketball, spearfishing (and many, many more sports), international politics, catching lizards, eating bizarre foods, dancing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I recently enjoyed the book Wild and the movie , I like travel guidebooks; I like reading The Atlantic, The New Yorker, BBC International, Al Jazeera, NPR. I love nature documentaries -- and generally anything that simultaneously entertains & educates.

I like ambient music -- like you'd hear at a beachside cafe or candlelit dinner. But generally music of all kinds.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiked and overlanded through 29 countries in Africa for almost one year (2012). It was an incredible trip; nearly every day was packed with memorable experiences. This wasn't my longest trip, but so far it is my favorite.

Teach, Learn, Share

Lots of travel stories! Many pictures from the current and past trips -- I have them with me. I used to be an English teacher so if anyone wants some pointers, I am happy to help.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am new to Couchsurfing. Hopefully any host would enjoy some of my travel stories from a lifetime's worth of traveling.

I am also very responsible, helpful, and honest. I promise to treat the home of of my host with respect.

Happy to help out with food, drinks, etc.

And hopefully we can share some laughs and have some great memories!
