Overview
About Me
Hi, my name is Justin. I'm currently traveling around the world.
I usually test out as an ISTJ. If you watch Game of Thrones, my personality type is like Eddard Stark. I'd like to think I'm a bit more friendly than Ned is though. I'm also super clean and neat.
I'm also not much of a party person anymore. Now that I get two day hangovers, it just isn't worth it. A beer or two, sure.
These days I mainly enjoy the luxury that is indoor plumbing, working out, people watching, drawing, eating copious amounts of food, and sleeping in clean sheets.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm looking to meet new people and learn new things.
Interests
Video games, science fiction, biking, hiking, running, camping, snowboarding, skiing, obstacle races, history, camping, backpacking, trekking, drawing, painting, judo, billiards, and motorcycling.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Eclectic taste. It varies quite a bit depending on my mood. But usually I avoid metal, EDM, and modern day country music.
I recently discovered this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4G0nbpLySI and I think it's amazing.
Movie: I could talk about movies all day long. Here are my ten favorite films:
1. Forrest Gump
2. Aliens
3. Back to the Future
4. Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan
5. Lego Movie
6. Saving Private Ryan
7. Jurassic Park
8. How to Train Your Dragon
9. Guardians of the Galaxy
10. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Books: Science Fiction tends to dominate this field. Favorite book: Ender's Game. Second favorite: Dune. Notable mentions: Hyperion, The Hobbit, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and Jurassic Park.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went trekking on the Manaslu trek circuit in Nepal in November of 2014. And then I went trekking to Machu Picchu in Peru in August 2015. And now, I think I'm done trekking for a while.
Teach, Learn, Share
Things I can teach: English, how to ride a motorcycle, how to get in shape, how to draw, basic automotive repair, how to cook (basic stuff). I know a lot of random stuff that I'd be happy to share. From useless trivia information to history, etc.
Things I'd want to learn: beekeeping, rock climbing, languages (priority: Korean or German), more judo, computer programming? Hmm I'm not sure about this one. I guess "Life" would encompass near everything.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share with them the promise that if I do crash on your couch or what have you, I will be a respectful and courteous guest. Every host is different and has different expectations, I acknowledge and understand that.
All changes in plans and unexpected hiccups will be discussed and agreed upon. I don't like unpleasant surprises, and I'm assuming you don't either.
Besides that, drinks, laughs, and good times I hope. And the promise that when I move back into my own place you can come crash on my couch.
