I am an American traveling through Asia and Africa over the next year in order to learn more about different cultures. I have worked as a teacher for 3 years in Los Angeles. I taught kindergarten (5 year old students) for 2 years and second grade (7 year old students) for 1 year. After my 3 years of teaching, I worked in New York as a data analysis at an education based non-profit. I'm typically very upbeat and I love learning new things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to full immerse myself in the places I visit and I believe that the best way to do that is by staying with people who live there, listening to their stories and learning from them. I also am a strong believer in paying it forward with acts of kindness. Though I am new to this site, I have hosted my own friends that have been transitioning to a new city for months at a time over the past years.
