About Me

My girlfriend and I moved to Portland in August '19. We quit our jobs in February '19, traveled to SE Asia and S. America and had an amazing four months of traveling before we returned home and moved from Cleveland to Portland

I'm a designer, I try to travel whenever I get the opportunity. In my free time I enjoy cooking, playing soccer, hiking, skiing, slacklining, biking, yoga/acro-yoga, chasing new foods and pursuing the next best happy hour. I enjoy going out whether it be dancing or just to a local bar to hang out with friends.

I'm social, outgoing and personable. I believe I can talk to and get along with most people. I can be spontaneous and I crave new experiences. Pushing yourself to try new things is central to what I believe, I think that when you put yourself in new and uncomfortable situations it can lead to so much growth.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy traveling, domestic and abroad. One of the biggest appeals of traveling to me is meeting new people, especially locals. You're able to tap into and experience things that may not be well known or touristy.

Cost is certainly part of the equation as well, money saved in lodging can be put towards future travels or put towards your hosts in the form of a home cooked meal, dinner and/or drinks, etc.

Interests

I've been playing soccer since I was a child, stopped playing in college and recently in the last few years picked it back up and really found my love for it again.
I've been slacklining for about 8 years now, off and on.
I truly love hiking, being new to Portland and Oregon as a whole is so exciting for me. So much new nature to explore! Nothing beats a summer morning hike, setting up my hammock, having a bite to eat, reading and/or napping and just enjoying the beautiful weather and quiet of the outdoors.
I'm not much of a beer drinker, never found a liking for it (or I just haven't found one I like), so I typically drink hard ciders.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies:
Generally go for comedies, a few favorites are Pineapple Express, Tommy Boy, Tropic Thunder and Step Brothers. I've enjoyed art films and international films but forget to seek out more to watch!

Anything goes typically, just not a huge fan of horror films.

Music:
Very broad taste in music but I generally listen to music I can sing too. Could be hip hop, rap, country, bluegrass, R&B, musicals and so on and so forth.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I booked a flight to Barcelona on a whim just weeks before going. I didn't make any plans outside of my first night in a hostel and just played everything by ear. My first time traveling abroad alone and it was an amazing experience. I met and got to know so many amazing people from all over the world. Not everything always goes to plan and shit happens but this trip went flawlessly and it was an incredible first experience for me.

Teach, Learn, Share

Love to teach people how to slackline.
