ABOUT ME

I've grown up in Texas my entire life. I am a bit of a geek. I love to paint, watch movies, cook, and do hip hop at my local gym. I love to travel, have new experiences and learn to recipes. I am half German. My mother is from Germany and I have been there a couple of times to visit family. It is such a beautiful country. It's a lot different from where I live. Lubbock is very flat and desert like. And no, I do not own a horse, nor a gun, and I'm not a cowboy. Those are the main questions I get asked when people hear that I am from Texas. I enjoy going to happy hour with my coworkers and friends and sometime catching a movie with them. I can be a bit of a trickster. I enjoy pulling pranks on my friends. I am not the super adventurous type when it comes to things like roller coasters and things of that nature. I am adventurous in that I like to go to new places and try new things that I haven't done before. I feel that you never know something until you try it. I am allergic to Cats and I prefer to stay with people who don't smoke.

As mentioned earlier I love travel. I like to learn about a different cultures from my own. I enjoy cooking a lot. I recently took up painting as a hobby. I find that it is very relaxing

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Where to begin... I love movies. I enjoy watching most any type of movie. The exception is horror. I'll watch a few. I really enjoy watching comedies, action, scifi, and animated movies. As I said I'm a bit of a geek. I really enjoy watching superhero movies and I love Disney films. Some of my all time favorite films are Jurassic Park, Nightmare Before Christmas, The Fifth Element, Labyrinth, and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Books: I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan. It is by far my favorite series of books. I do a novel study on Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone with my students. I have started reading the series A Song of Ice and Fire. AKA Game of Thrones. I've also read The Mortal Instruments series, Percy Jackson, King Killer Trilogy, Hunger Game series, Sookie Stackhouse Series AKA True Blood, and various others.

Music: I have a unique taste in music. I like almost anything with the exception of Country Music. (This can be difficult at times in Texas) I enjoy pop, rock, alternative, classical, swing, and hip hop.

Now there isn't a section for TV shows but I love watching television series. Here are some of my favorites: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, True Blood, Dexter, Supernatural, Grimm, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, and Two Broke Girls just to name a few.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last summer I got to go eat at one of my favorite cooks, Paula Deen's Restaurant. During that same trip I made a stop to Duck Dynasty's (An American Reality Show) headquarters and meet one of the stars of Jep. I got to go to one of my dream destinations, Rome.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a really great cook and love sharing my passion for cooking with others. I am always up to share and learn new recipes. Since doing Hip Hop at my local gym, I have learned a lot of routines and have the songs saved on my Ipod. So, we could have a Hip Hop workout session. I started hosting a class every Tuesday and Thursday with my fellow teachers after school. They enjoyed it. Trust me, you will sweat.
