About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To always be exhilarated with life and inspired by the many good things it has to offer.
ABOUT ME
I have a serious case of wanderlust, and feel like there is so much out there to do and see. I do not like over-planning things. I am addicted to coffee. I love sampling local food and drink, and am pretty much up for anything (as long as it stays borderline legal and does not involve the maiming of small children or animals). I can be quite chatty if I feel comfortable with someone, but can also go for long periods of time being alone with my own thoughts.
PHILOSOPHY
I am exhilarated with life. You can't stay upset for long when you realise that you've been blessed in so many ways. Kierkegaard wrote "What is joy? It is to be present to oneself...that thou didst come into existence, that thou art in existence...that thou canst see...hear,taste, smell...that when the sun is weary, the moon then begins then the stars are lit"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I try to be an interesting and friendly guest to other CS-ers. I'd love to show people around who are passing through Malaysia. I've been completely inactive for two years but I figure it's time to jump back on the CS wagon.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first CS experience was meeting up with a fellow Durham CS-er for coffee. Then having a CS-er round for lunch. During my month-long interrail trip, I couchsurfed with some amazing people. I've also met up with CS-ers in my home country, and tried to show them a good time. It's all been a blast.
Interests
Books, books and books. If I did not read, I would go mad (even madder than I am now). I read books which are not overly depressing, and make me smile but not fluff. I write (as we all do), and hope to one day make enough sense of my written ramblings to publish something. I love music and listening to lad-back chilled out sounds. I play the guitar, piano and ukulele (none of them very well). I like having philosophical debates, I want to see what goes on in other people's head. Existentialist philosophy, political theory, human psyche, are all fascinating and make for good conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'd love to swap reading lists, music playlists, favourite movies with people. The Matrix was for a long time my favourite movie ever (till the 2nd and 3rd one came along to spoil it for me) Read a lot of George Orwell, Somerset Maugham and Pablo Neruda, and am thrilled to discover the poetry of simply constructed sentences. Terry Pratchett is a genius. Bill Bryson is my literary hero and I actually shook hands with him during my graduation! Life of Pi is one of my favourite books of all time. I am into alternative rock, indie-folk, jazz, swing, Frank Sinatra, Jason Mraz, Rufus il Gaiman.Wainwright, Ingrid Michaelson....its a mixed and neverending list.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can make a mean curry or authentic stir-fries. I can teach people 3 basic chords on the ukulele. I can teach someone to knit a scarf ( a basic scarf, just Knit-Purl) I'll do sing-alongs, literally sing for my supper. I will engage in witty banter.
