About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet people from all over the world. The more friends we all have, the better off we'll be, and the world will be that much more fun to see. (That could be a jingle, couldn't it?)
ABOUT ME
Fewer things bring me as much pleasure as a night out getting to know people. Making small talk, learning about other cultures, and making people laugh. Always down to explore a new restaurant, play frisbee in a park, or just walk around for a few hours. It's the little things in life that keeps me going.
PHILOSOPHY
"Treat others the way you wish to be treated." Totally cliche, but it will take you far.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've always been in love with the idea of the CouchSurfing community. While traveling I see it as a great way to make new friends, enjoy a conversation, and obviously save money. I realize I'm more of "take" person rather than a "give" person on here so I do everything in my ability to be sure I'm as good of a guest as I could possibly be - I am clean, considerate of making noise, and am happy to buy my hosts a meal in exchange for your help. I also oftentimes travel with tourist refrigerator magnets I can leave behind as a memory of the person you once hosted and helped out. :)
I've never lived in a space conducive to hosting, but I dream of the day when I've got a spare bedroom or a big enough space to freely open up to all of you who have helped me during my own travels. I'm always down to get a coffee or help out when I can.
Interests
Lots of things! From musical theater to sports (both playing and watching), all forms of art, traveling (obviously), cooking, playing chess, card games, writing.
My interests are always expanding, and I really enjoy learning of other people's interests. Share something with me you like and are passionate about I'll undoubtedly be curious to learn.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Brazilian music, old jazz, Broadway soundtracks.
Movies: Anything mobster-related.
Books: I don't read half as much as I'd like to, but a Murakami novel has never let me down. I'm also really curious about getting into comic books and graphic novels - if you know anything about the two could you teach me how to go about getting into them? Something tells me I'll love them.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Successfully obtained a European passport at the age of 24. I haven't done anything really amazing with it yet, but I'm proud that I was able to finagle my way into one.
Anybody wanna go live in Europe with me for a while? I don't know what I'd do there but it sounds like fun.
Teach, Learn, Share
Realistically things I know well enough to teach:
Chess, clear-focused content writing, baseball, American football, travel-hacking, how to be a good person, how to make latte art (I've been a barista for far too long).
Things I'd like to learn:
Car maintenance, how to read music, drawing
Things I would enjoy sharing:
A meal. Let's cook together.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Lots of great conversation (both listening and telling), funny jokes, travel stories, a recipe for great veggie burgers or my mother's homemade salsa. Respect, courtesy, and the promise to not be a creepy person. (I'm very self conscious to not be mistaken for one of those guys that tries to use Couchsurfing as a hook up device. The last thing I want is to make a host feel uncomfortable and cause them to not want to use the site anymore.)
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom
Countries I’ve Lived In
Austria, Denmark, Ireland, Portugal, United States
