我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I am an outgoing person who loves exploring , meeting new people and having fun. Simple as that! There are so many places on this earth that I would love to visit and experience, and if those destinations can be enhanced by some awesome humans, I am ready for those unforgettable memories.

I was recommended Couchsurfing by multiple friends, and heard all of their wonderful tales where they not only experience all of those marvelous things I mentioned above but also made some amazing connections with people all across the world. And that sounds exactly like my cup of tea!

I love exploring and discovering, so my interests are constantly growing!

Here are just some of my interests and things I am passionate about:
the arts, cooking, theatre, culture, enjoying good food and wine with friends, hiking, movies, marathon tv binges, history, the ocean and swimming in it, beautiful thunder storms during the summer, exploring new places in my our backyard, museums, fresh produce markets, dancing to oldies (usually badly), a little bit of whimsy, the smell right after it rains, laughing till your sides hurt, mermaids, tea, poorly knitting hats, photography and having joyful moments with people.

I love storytelling!!! And music, movies, and books are some of my favorite ways to take in a story.

For movies here are a few directors and films that are amongst my favorites: Big Fish, Amélie, Harold and Maude, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Mel Brooks movies, Pixar films, Wes Anderson films, Miyazaki films, mockumentaries by Christopher Guest and so many more it makes my mind dizzy to think about them!

I like to think that music helps accent our lives, kind of like a soundtrack. My life's soundtrack has everything from oldies pop to soul to a lot of folk music to classic rock to musicals to blues to gypsy jazz to indie to motown.

I love to read. I may not always make enough time to, but getting lost in a book is one of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon. Here are some of my favorites: Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Jane Eyre, Harry Potter series, The Tearling series, Bossy Pants by Tina Fey, Amy Poehler's Yes Please, Mindy Kahling's Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns), Federico García Lorca, Richard Brautigan, and so many others.

Marched/danced behind a zombie band in the streets of New Orleans at the spur of the moment just because it was fun
Listen to amazing music in Nashville
Sung with Dick Van Dyke on stage
I had to take a circus class in college
Walked in a major blizzard
Swam in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans

I come from an arts background, both with performing and fine arts, so any knowledge or passion I can share, I more then happy too!

I would love to swap some recipes or teach any one who wants to know how to knit a scarf or hat!
