About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet as many like-minded outdoor travel enthusiasts as possible and make a connection.

ABOUT ME

I'm a high energy girl who is psyched on life and ready for adventure! My friends would describe me in three words: "rainbows," "unicorns," and "cupcakes." I like bright, happy stuff, have a positive attitude, and am typically really excited to do anything that has to do with the outdoors or involves eating good food. I like to be really active most of the time, but when I do relax, I enjoy watching a good movie, going to a gallery, or seeing a live show. I'm not much of a party animal, but I enjoy a solid beer now and again, or a good Malbec, and can be seen dancing from time to time.

PHILOSOPHY

Just give er.' Live each day as if it's your last.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm relatively new to Couchsurfing and have only done it a couple times in New Zealand, but I had an incredible experience with it. I am currently unable to host surfers because I am living at home while I get ready for this trip, but would love to be able to in the near future when I have my own place in West Virginia this summer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Great experience in Christchurch, NZ.

Interests

I live for mountain biking, road riding, rock climbing, hiking, trail running, yoga, surfing, backpacking, and just about every endurance sport that involves the outdoors. I currently work in the New River Gorge in West Virginia, USA as a Climbing and Mountain Biking Guide for a large adventure resort. In the off season, I work as an Outdoor Educator, taking groups of school kids into the wilderness in order to promote growth, independence, and understanding. When I do sit down and chill, besides the aforementioned, I enjoy playing guitar, and cooking or baking healthy food.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love too many films to list, but I definitely have a weakness for British romantic comedies staring Hugh Grant. I do appreciate serious, thought provoking cinema as well though like American Beauty, just nothing in the horror genre. I can deal with blood though and Quentin Tarantino flicks are pretty great in my book.

Top Books:
F. Scott Fitzgerald short stories and novels
Paulo Coelho
Harry Potter Series
The Glass Castle

Music:
Pretty eclectic taste, but currently listening to:
Cage the Elephant, the Walters, Lana Del Rey, Fleet Foxes, T-Rex, The Smiths, and Tune-Yards.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing Half Dome (Snake Dike route) in Yosemite National Park.
Climbing Mt. Whitney (East Buttress).
Seeing Fitz Roy on a clear day in Patagonia.
Moving to West Virginia ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share knowledge about rock climbing and cycling, and would love to explore and learn about these things in and around the Blue Mountains and in Tasmania.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Aruba, Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Israel, New Zealand, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
