About Me

It is always difficult to give an accurate image of oneself in a few lines. My friends often tell me that I am a sweet girl with a huge heart, that I am trustworthy and stronger than I look. I guess they are right. I will add that I am an unconditional romantic, deeply moved by everything that is beautiful or kind.

I guess that is one of the main reasons I like travelling so much: finding beauty and kindness all over the world. Sometimes they are shining, sometimes they are covered in dust, but they exist everywhere.

Did I tell you that I was a very optimistic girl?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing thanks to some friends who were already very fond of it. I immediately liked the concept. Everybody who has already tried to travel is aware how expensive it can be or how soothing it is to have some locals who offer a hand when you're lonely or lost in a foreign country.

Being a student, I cannot offer a place to stay to other Couchsurfers, unfortunately, but I'm ready to help and meet anybody who would wish it. During my Erasmus+ stay in Turkey during the Fall semester 2015, I fully realized that I was a world citizen and what I wish now is to stay in this international sphere that I like so much.

Interests

Let's begin by saying that I am an artist. I'm a singer and a dancer. I like music, cinema and art in general.

As I am a student in languages and literatures, it is obvious that both of them are main interests in my life. It's not only about gaining knowledge. Actually, it is mainly about sharing with others. I love learning languages because they allow me to communicate with other people, to meet them and understand them (sometimes) and discover new cultures. I love literatures, not only because I love reading, but also because I'm convinced that this timeless heritage makes us more human.

In fact, I can say that my main interest in life is human beings: my loved ones, my family, my friends, the people I meet daily, the ones who only make a brief appearance in my life... let's say I love people. I think it is a sine qua non when you're travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books

I would need an entire book to make an accurate list of my likings in these three domains but I will try to be short here.

As far music is concerned, I'm really open-minded and international. If you have a look at my playlist, you can find Lady Gaga alongside Romeo Santos, in the middle of Turkish pop, quickly followed by French and Broadway musicals. Nevertheless, my favorite genres remain English pop and rock and my favorite singer, Louis Delort, is a French-pop-singer.

Movies and books... I guess I can talk about both of them at the same time. In my teenagehood, I was a big fan of fantaisy, heroic fantaisy and the like. I'm from the generation Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Twilight, Royal Assassin and so many others, and I don't disown my background. I'm still very fond of this kind of books and movies.

Now, I guess I can watch and read pretty much everything according to my mood (apart from horror movies, thrillers and bloody stuff though I watched back then Underworld and one and a half season of Game of Thrones). My predilection was, is and will remain romantic movies. The good ones. Not the cliché ones or the teenage romantic dramas (though they make me laugh a lot). I'm a fan of Nicholas Sparks. I love heart-warming movies and books, even if they make me cry at the end.

Teach, Learn, Share

Regarding to learning and teaching, I think I feel like Plato: I know nothing except the fact of my ignorance. I have the feeling I've just started the path of self-discovery and discovery of others, hence my will to travel and learn, learn, learn as much as I can. For me learning is not only about the books you're reading or the studies you're doing, it's mainly about meeting people and let them play a role in your life. That's why I think sharing with others if one of the most precious things we have in our life, even if it can hurt you eventually.
