About Me
Hi 👋 My name is Justine and it's nice to meet you!
✨✈️CURRENT TRAVEL PLANS 🌏✨
I just finished hitchhiking around Taiwan for 6 weeks and now I'm embarking on my travels around Asia until the end of the year. I'll be visiting several countries and many new places that I haven't been before, so I'm excited to meet new people, eat new foods, explore new places and create some new memories!
______________________
I was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and later in life I lived in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Vancouver made me fall in love with the beauty of oceans, beaches and mountains. I'm now living in Taipei and for this last year I was a full-time language student. My parents are Taiwanese, so I'm a heritage speaker, but I don't know how to read or write -- so I came here to learn 🙈
I didn't always love travelling when I was younger, but now I am absolutely in love with meeting new people and creating new memories in unexplored lands. The best part of travelling for me is the people I get to meet along the way.
I was a flight attendant before covid and then I worked for a tech company for a while. I took time off between 2022-2023 to explore and enjoy life a little bit before I go back to "adulting". This year, I decided I still wasn't ready to go back to work, but instead wanted to fulfill my longtime dream of becoming more fluent in my mother tongue. Would love to come stay with you and create some new connections around the world. Promise to be on my best behaviour and be a good guest 😇
I know that a HUGE part of Couchsurfing is trust, so please feel free to find me on Instagram if it helps you get to know me a little more @justineyang.travels
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After using Couchsurfing for 4 months while travelling in Europe (between September 2022 to January 2023) and then in Brazil (in March 2023), I truly believe that staying with a local is the best way to learn more about the city you're visiting. The exchange of culture and the community that it creates is really incredible, and I'm so grateful to be a part of it.
My current living situation doesn't allow me to host, but I am really looking forward to the day I can give back to this generous community and house some of my own surfers!
