CURRENT MISSION

Our mission has been to host couchsurfers. However, we recently moved to an apartment and we are still getting settled so we are not hosting right now. We are travelers and enjoy supporting other travelers. Our kids are beginning to travel on their own, after we have taught them a bunch. Hopefully, they will surf.

ABOUT ME

I own a business and I volunteer in the community. I am not a typical couchsurfer or host. I am pretty busy and not that laid back but I am fun to be with. I can be intense and I have a big personality. My husband and I like in-depth conversations and we like to build relationships.

I am married to (and in love with) David for thirty nine years now. Among my kids, Hannah is a boss in Seattle; Jon works for me in my investment bank and Max is is a mycologist at Mayo Clinic. So everyone is up and out.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am generally a host. I am beginning to surf myself. I have had big houses and I like to share. While I respond to 100% of couch requests, I only say yes to folks that I like and that treat me with kindness, courtesy and a personal touch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have been couchsurfing for a few years now. We are also experienced travelers, au pair hosts, exchange hosts and parents.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I backpacked around the world in the summer of 1989 and was in China when Tienanmen Square happened.
