Overview
About Me
Hi, my name is Justine. I'm 24 years old and living in the amazing city Ghent. I just graduated as a historian and currently looking for an exciting job. My friends would probably say that i'm expressive, quirky, honest, empathising, enthusiastic and friendly. A little bit chaotic sometimes but also very organised on particular topics. My mood and level of openness towards others depends also on the other person(s). But most of the times i'm an open-minded and chill person, especially when i travel.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
What attracts me the most in Couchsurfing is the possibility to meet other people with whom i normally would not have come in contact with. I also really like the fact that you stay with a local, which makes you feel less like a tourist and it gives the opportunity to learn about hidden gems in the city. Although i have not opened my house up to other Couchsurfers yet, i would really like to once i have the time and space.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC:
There are a lot of genres that i like and there are still a lot i would like to explore.
When i was younger i was really into the classics, rock and indie music. The bands or artists that really sticked are: David Bowie (naturally, the man is a music chameleon!!!), Simple Minds, Pink Floyd, Arctic Monkeys, The Cure, Arcade Fire, PJ Harvey, Elbow, Kasabian, The Antlers, Muse, The National, The Rolling Stones, Bon Iver, Balthazar (amazing Belgian band), Grizzly Bear, Fleetwood Mac, Efterklang, Asaf Avidan,..
The last two years i'm focussing more on electronic music and music with base. Music that you physically feel vibrating :). So that ranges from techno to future bass: Darkside, Nicolas Jaar, Banks, Fever Ray, Bonobo, Jef Mills, Flume, Mura Masa, George Fitzgerald, James Blake, Massive Attack, Bob Moses, Kiasmos, Sohn, Samaris,...
I recently discovered Reggae and i also enjoy classical music and film music, like the music from James Newton Howard, Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore, Shigeru Umebayashi,...
I would really like to get to know Funk/Soul music, middle Eastern music and music from other cultures.
MOVIES and BOOKS: i will fill in later, when i have the time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I learned myself how to use Adobe Indesign and made a 200page book for the jubileum of my scouting group. I'm pretty proud of it :).
Teach, Learn, Share
I love talking about music! So we can learn from each other :).
As a historian i could tell some interesting facts, but unfortunately i have a really bad memory. If i'm travelling with my boyfriend, also a historian, then that will be his field of expertise :).
I can also teach you some yummy and healty recipes. I'm not a vegetarian, but i like a lot of vegetarian meals because they open up new flavour combinations and let you look at cooking differently.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Lots of talks about music/travelling experiences/other cultures/..., cooking and eating the cooked meals, drinks in parks/bars, partying, sightseeing and so on.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Belgium, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey
