About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to travel, have as much fun as possible, and meet interesting people!

ABOUT ME

I'm originally from California but have lived in St Pete, FL since I was 10 years old. My girlfriend and I have a small house with 2 cats, 2 rabbits, and a dog. My interests are all over the place and are not even close to being limited to: music (playing and listening), exercise, literature and film, pro wrestling, traveling, and beer.

PHILOSOPHY

The meaning of life: make it as fulfilling as you can. You only get one shot, so get your money's worth!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would love to meet travelers coming to the Tampa Bay area. I'm almost always up for going out for a meal or a drink (or 6), and if you need a place to stay, I'd be glad to help out when possible. I've traveled through much of Europe and met many hospitable people that were so friendly and helpful to me, and I'd like to do the same for other travelers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've hosted travelers to St Pete on a few occasions and have used CS while traveling abroad in Spain. It's a great way to meet new people and travel on a budget!

Interests

I have a lot of hobbies: reading, writing, film, beer (brewing and drinking), whisky, pro wrestling, playing the drums and guitar, DJing, cooking, playing video games, language learning, and traveling (believe it or not!).

Music, Movies, and Books

This could get ridiculous fast, so I'll just name 10 examples from each category and try to make it as broad as possible!

Music (too many to name; genre, then?): Punk, grindcore, death/black metal, classic and prog rock, indie, new wave, electronic music, jazz, hip hop, and experimental stuff.

Movies (how about directors?): Wong Kar-Wai, Jean-Luc Godard, Paul Thomas Anderson, Seijun Suzuki, Takeshi Kitano, Takashi Miike, Federico Fellini, Gaspar Noe, Alejandro Innaritu, David Lynch.

Books (how about authors): Haruki Murakami, Alain Robbe-Grillet, James Joyce, Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, H.P. Lovecraft, Franz Kafka, Nick Hornby, Italo Calvino, Yukio Mishima.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've made a living for several years in a very non-traditional field. I just can't bring myself to work a regular job!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can brew beer and hard cider and I can cook some pretty good vegan food. I know how to play the drums, guitar, and bass as well as DJ (vinyl and digital). I'm also somewhat knowledgeable about film, literature, music, fitness, nutrition, beer, Scotch, gambling games, and other fun things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm glad to help with cleaning or other small chores, and I'm a pretty decent cook (vegan food only). I also possess a lot of barely-useful knowledge that I'm happy to pass on!
