About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Inspire everyone

ABOUT ME

I enjoy finding humor in anything I can, and although I can be very energetic and occasionally outgoing, I always try to be as respectful of others as possible. I love good conversation and company of others, but can also keep to myself quite well and be content.

PHILOSOPHY

Stay positive, always. Encourage others. Do not simply believe or assume, but live and learn from experience. Consciously be grateful.

I've read Alan Watts "Tao of Philosophy" and Peter Ralston "Book of Not Knowing" and both have contributed to philosophical and ontological outlook.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Honestly I'm quite new at this. Right now I'm traveling. When I get home I won't have a place of my own so I doubt I'll frequently be able to host, but some day I'd love to, and wouldn't mind meeting up with other travelers to show them wherever I may be.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

See references, every one of these folks, and then some shared wonderful conversation with me, and sometimes we shared meal and drink :)

Interests

My interests are fairly wide. My biggest interest is movement, specifically artistic movement for theatre and film. I love dance, martial arts, fitness and theatre performance, and those worlds are coincidentally my career pursuit- fight direction, as well as directing, and movement performance in general. Despite interest in fight direction, I abhor violence. I also have a great interest in film making and movies in general, although I'm not involved in film production as of late I hope to be in the future. I frequently find interest discussing philosophy and ontology. I love listening to music, and admire it deeply, but unfortunately have no talent in that realm.

Music, Movies, and Books

Aside from the above mentioned in Philosophy
Books- Night Watch (The Russian series), American Shaolin, Zen Body Being.

Movies- I love movies. I really really love movies. I hope to direct and work in film someday, but along the way in that pursuit I really love watching them as well
Action movies, martial arts movies, Arnold Schwarzenagger (in this case the more ridiculous the better), Jackie Chan (was my childhood) Horror movies. Any movie that's really well made, and interesting, not just Hollywood crap (it's not all crap either though)

Here are some favorites Night Watch (based after the book series), Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Peaceful Warrior, 28 Days Later, The Matrix, Dark City, Evil dead, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, Ink, Bubba Ho-tep, John Dies At The End, Bodyguards and Assassins, Shaolin. This list goes on, a long time.

MUSIC!
I LOVE MUSIC. I LOVE DANCING.
I love all sorts, I actually really like cinematic music or music that tells a story lately, however I like many types so hears an example (catch the pun? I also love puns)

-Nine Inch Nails, The Beatles, System of a Down, Matisyahu, Two Steps From Hell, Awolnation, Muse, Imagine Dragons, Skindred, Florence and the Machine, and that list goes on for a while but I'll leave it there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have studied Shaolin Kung Fu under Shaolin Masters for a year in China.

Aside from that, I have had many amazing experiences I'd love to share stories of even in my home in America, from the simplest exchanges to moments of profound revelation, and the most serious of times and funniest of times.
and
Honestly- conversing with couch surfing folks.
annnnd- Meeting the love of my life :)

Teach, Learn, Share

As mentioned, my career path is in fight direction and movement. I would be glad to train with anyone in stage combat, kinesthetic awareness, fitness, basic self defense, or any discussion on philosophy and ontology as I continue studies myself.
