About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discover the world we live in and the beauty of every moment - as it is.

ABOUT ME

Moved to the Piedmont neighborhood (Close to Alberta, Mississippi, and North Williams) last year with my partner. We're both actors and improvisors playing locally at Curious Comedy Theater.

After spending a year on the road WWOOF'ing in California, Arizona, New Mexico, & Texas I settled down in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawai'i with a close friend. My husband Nick and I met there and since then have been traveling together ever since - mostly doing educational children's theatre for Elementary & Middle School aged kids with the National Theatre for Children. We've been fortunate enough to enjoy time on tour experiencing Minneapolis, Madison WI, Chicago, Cincinnati, Asheville & Raleigh NC, Washington DC, and Key West - and everywhere in between. Spending the summers and winters in village of Talkeetna Alaska, working at the Roadhouse & producing theatre for kids and adults at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Four years later we married here in Portland.

PHILOSOPHY

I wrote this back in 2009 when I started this account, and I strongly believe it still applies:
VOTE WITH YOUR FORK! We have at least 3 votes a day to reduce our impact on this planet and fight factory farms.

Live mindfully!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've used this site for getting around in unfamiliar areas, and even finding hosts the night of our visit. So, as you can imagine, I'm extremely grateful for a system that connects people like this. Nick and I would both like to give back to this system and help others see our town. We have hosted friends and family on our couch and have loved the opportunity of having adventures around town with them. We would love to share these explorations with other Couchsurfers - if you're up for it.

Interests

I'm passionate about yoga, meditation, and mindful living. Currently working on fusing these with improv - which fields some of the same principles. Nick and I are both bike commuters (as our only mode of transportation aside from walking/transit) who love the outdoors, hiking, swimming, and exploring. We love to cook delicious vegan meals and bake mouthwatering gluten free treats. Usually you can find us on any given night dancing (ecstatic and more), performing, or playing board games. I'm also a Reiki Master Practitioner, Light Worker, and Energetic Guide.

Music, Movies, and Books

I can listen to anything that has some soul in it, watch anything with some artistic value, and read almost anything - but here are some of current favorites.

The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell
Dancing in the Streets by Barbara Ehrenreich
Anything with Jenny Lewis
The Golden Girls
The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

6 years ago I left everything I knew and got rid of about a backpack-shy of everything I had. Then I picked up a pitchfork and over an entire year, through the WWOOF'ing program, learned all I could about farming, living simply, and spreading the word about loving our planet. It brought me to so many amazing places, people, and teachings. Saying yes to life and going with the flow of things led me to my husband and partner of 4 years - continually challenging each other and growing together. I'm pretty amazed by it still.

Teach, Learn, Share

It's what we're here to do! We can teach you yoga, meditation, improvisation skills (for life and/or performance), vegan cooking, gluten free baking, eating mindfully, living sustainably, gardening, and more! We would learn almost anything and are huge into communication.

What I Can Share with Hosts
