Overview
About Me
I grew up in the midwest, attended college in the only liberal county of Indiana, remarking, "this is the first and last place I will ever live in Indiana." So now I live in New Orleans. I started playing music very young and have been songwriting since I could put two chords together. I songwrite, perform, sing, and tour with an indie rock project called Mighty Brother.
While traveling, I of course love to perform, but I'm equally as interested in hiking, climbing, caving, anything outdoors. I love meeting people in all walks of life and sharing perspectives. I'm outwardly introspective, could talk philosophy all day, and I consider myself decidedly extroverted when placed in new situations. That said, I am oft given to bouts of taciturn solemnity that mostly signal contemplation and a need to write. I'm not a needy guest, and I take nothing personal. I'm versatile and easy going.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a host, I'd like to return the favors I've been shown on the road. A hundred hosts, couchsurfers and otherwise, have shown me great kindness. Since relocating to New Orleans, I host a good many friends each year, and I think everyone should experience this city. There really is no other like it in the US, as far as I can tell.
As a surfer, I want to experience new places, people, and cultures, to climb mountains or just big rocks, to play music everywhere there are ears to hear, and to search out future spaces of residence.
I have always loved the community you meet through couchsurfing, and I support its mission to the fullest! Let's get mobile!

What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer a house full of music! (Or devoid of sound, if that's your thing. NBD.) I will share pointers/lessons for guitar/voice/ukulele/kazoo/whistling/songwriting/music business. I offer these easily as they've always come naturally to me.
I like swapping stories and experiences, perspectives and mantras. I can tell you how to fix your car, where to get the best seafood in New Orleans, offer my homestead to your future visit potentially. Need a gym/climbing partner? Need me to hook up a projector for you or set up a DMX Universe for your kitchen lighting?
