Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION To wake up every day, grateful for a healthy, comfortable life.
ABOUT ME
I've been a traveler all my life, interested more in the cultural aspects than site seeing. The USA has quite diverse cultures depending on the region one visits. I grew up and was educated in the Midwest which is quite different from the South where I am currently living.
This past year, I remarried after living alone for many years. It has been a physical challenge combining years and years of "things" and setting up our household to fulfill both of our lives. We both love guests, so much of our pleasure has been planning our guest suite.
I am also an avid gardener so we spend much of our time making new garden beds to compliment my husband's hobby building rock walls. Hopefully, we'll have lots of fresh garden vegetables in the future.
Prior to moving to Alabama, I lead an urban, fast paced lifestyle working in technology as a marketing and manufacturing specialist to Fortune 500 companies.
PHILOSOPHY
I want to have the smallest foot print possible on this earth. I try to live consciously, aware that for every action there is a reaction.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've had the pleasure of hosting a few couch surfers since joining several years ago. Of course, living in rural Alabama, I don't get near as many travelers as I did when I lived in Atlanta and hosted many travelers with Servas, but I have enjoyed each and every one I've hosted. Jim and I hope to do a little couch surfing in the future as well.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
While at the Taj Mahal a couple years ago, a young couple came up and asked to have their photo taken with me. I graciously accepted and then we got talking after, and found we had some similar interests. An invitation for lunch when back in Delhi, eventually led to a couple days couch surfing with them. Just this spring I returned to attend the wedding of their brother.
Interests
I am interested in people, what they do and how they do it. I love food, art, reading, gardening, travel, alternative health, exercise, life in general.

Music, Movies, and Books
Like indy films...enjoy Netflix when I'm not on a reading kick. Like good novels, but fun reads...enjoyed Let the Great World Spin.
Teach, Learn, Share
The older I get, the more eager I am to learn what you have to teach me.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to cook and garden and have lots of knowledge to share. I've traveled solo all over the world and now am sharing traveling experiences with my husband. We both enjoy meeting and conversing with new people.
