Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host and surf, and meet people for a drink or a city tour. I have been planning to visit a CS meeting in my hometown, but I have not yet made it there.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed quite some couches, especially in Eastern Europe, before signing up on couchsurfing.com. In spring 2008 I had my first guests and surfed my first couches through CS. Since then I have met lots of people I had a good time with and some that have become very dear to me.

Interests

Nature, hiking, going out, drinking beer. dancing, going to concerts, hanging out in places I haven't been before, eating and drinking interesting (vegetarian) stuff, seeing how other people live. And stuff.
More geekish interests include collecting maps and atlases and an interest in landscapes and how these affect the people living in them and vice versa. And stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I like lots of different ones
Music: Seattle, Bristol, Afghan Whigs, QOTSA, Iggy Pop, Sleater Kinney, Throwing Muses, Sebadoh, Dinosaur Jr, dEUS, PJ Harvey, Bat for lashes, Belle & Sebastian, Amy Winehouse, People under the stairs, J5, Blackalicious, Pharcyde, Atmosphere, Autechre, Hall & Oates, 60's soul and funk. Stuff with energy, a groove and a heart. Or fuzz and wah.
Books: funny, wise, preferably both. Jared Diamond, Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, Kurt Vonnegut. Currently reading The dawn of everything by David Graeber and David Wengrow.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I keep being amazed at the amount and diversity of great people I meet. In my short life I have met so many people I deeply cared for.
