About Me

Most of the time, I am trying to enjoy myself, doing what I like and trying new things. I am mostly a contemplative person finding it important to reflect a bit on what you come across in life.
However, I love talking and I am always up for an interesting conversation as well as having plenty of laughs. I also enjoy coffee, wine and/or beer and other (non)alcoholic beverages.

I am soothed by vast mountain landscapes and drawn by hectic cities.

I live by the philosophy that everything is what you make of it. Therefore I am keen on making the most of everything. Sometimes I succeed, other times I do not. At least, I try.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would love to host sometime in the future, but for the time being it stays surfing other amazing people's couches!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have slept on couches on several occasions and find it quite enjoyable. One couch, in particular, was an amazing experience, not so much because of the couch itself (it was quite uncomfortable, in fact) but because of the people owning it. We still keep in touch.

Interests

Literature, art, dancing, ballet, languages, culture, theatre, food (both in the sense of eating it and cooking it).

Music, Movies, and Books

Reading books is what I would love to do for a living.
I love Francoise Sagan's Bonjour Tristesse and I adore anything by Marguerite Duras.

"Middlesex" by Jeffrey Eugenides is one of the best books I've ever read. "Mod naturen" and "Mod kunsten" by Tomas Espedal enter the same category. "Lolita" by Vladimir Nabokov, "La Délicatesse" by David Foenkinos, "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, anything by Haruki Murakami (by whom I've read, "1Q84" vol. 1 and 2, "South of the border, west of the sun" and "After Midnight").

I adore every movie directed by Quebécois Xavier Dolan; "J'ai tué ma mère", "Les amours imaginaire" and "Laurence Anyways". The spanish director Almodóvar interests me a lot as well. In particular, I am fond of; "La piel que habito", "Tacones Lejanos", "Todo sobre mi madre" and "La mala Educación".
I find Wes Anderson incredibly funny!
I had a blast watching "Nymphomaniac" by Von Trier. "The Wolf of Wall Street" made me think a lot... and I love a good superhero-movie on a friday night.

I have a very broad taste in music, I enjoy classical music like Satié, Saint-Saëns, Prokofiev, as well as pop music like Studio Killers, Disclosure, Local Natives etc. Beyoncé is too cool for school!
A good friend introduced me to the wonders of motown. And Nina Simone. Etta James, however, I discovered myself.
I recently fell in love with opera.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling across France in a 10-hour car ride going to l'Île de Groix in Bretagne to celebrate new years!

Walking the streets of Toulouse!

Taking the walk of Walter Benjamin in the Pyrenees starting in Banyuls-sur-Mer, France and finishing with a swim in the Mediterranean in Porto Bou, Spain.

Jogging at the foot of Mont Blanc and taking in the view from Aiguille du Midi.

Seeing the opera "Les Barbares" by Saint-Saëns in concert!
