About Me

I'm a teacher and researcher in Byron Bay Australia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love travelling and learning about other cultures. My job as an ESL teacher greatly helped since I ended up learning as much from my students as they did from me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met many people from Asia and Australia and looking forward to many more. I feel like this whole project is a great opportunity for cross-cultural understanding in today's globalized world.

Interests

Anything interesting, but topping the light are music, dancing and sustainability. Other notable ones are languages, gardening, history, reading, cycling, and yoga.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't watch movies or TV...interests in music are kinda all over the place, but I'm quite fond of reggae. Books I've enjoyed are for too numerous to list, but if I had to choose one I'd say 'The One Straw Revolution' by Masanobu Fukuoka.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam with sharks and when I quit playing competitively (which was in 1998), I ranked in the top thousand Scrabble players in North America.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like the idea of everyone being both a teacher and a student. As a teacher I enjoy sharing anything I know something about. Broadly speaking my really big interest is in sustainability. I lived on organic farming community in the Byron Bay hinterland for four years where learned a fair bit about sustainability.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My good nature as well as my helping hands for whatever is needed.

Countries I’ve Visited
