Overview
About Me
Update: Back from my USA road trip, finally established in London, ready to give back to some surfers! Have left my profile below unedited since before my travels so it will likely (hopefully?) be a little cringe. Enjoy the read and I'll see you soon. x

CURRENT MISSION
15,000 mile couchsurfing roadtrip of North America
ABOUT ME
Whilst my friends applied for jobs and PhDs I started to get an itch, wanting to travel and explore. This developed into the idea of buying a car in the States and couch-surfing all across the country. And so this is me, Joe, 23, university graduate, looking for a place to stay, a friend to make, a good time to be had!
PHILOSOPHY
I grew up as a scientist. I rationalised everything and still do to some extent. My life headed towards the pursuit and extension of human knowledge. This passion faded towards the end of my degree and I found myself quite lost (still am) and juggling around a few different ideas and approaches to life. Right now I am just living in the present much more whilst I slowly come to terms with who I am(!?).
Ha, that got a bit deep. Ultimately I'm just chilled out and enjoying new experiences without worrying about much/anything :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Currently surfing across America as I road-trip all over. Looking forward to hosting in the future.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Blank canvas. Will update after this, my first extended travelling experience.
[Update: I had an amazing time surfing around USA, largely off this site through word of mouth referals, but I also had some amazing experiences through CS hosts as well! Had a couple of rough and uncomfortable experiences too so I am looking to learn from the good and the bad to provide a great experience for my guests]
Interests
Music - Really love going to live music whether it's an indie rock band, an EDM rave or a piano concerto. Wide taste and always keen to try out new sounds.
Any kind of sports or game or physical activities, especially soccer - I'm always keen to play!
Geek at heart. I've just got back from Germany where 12,500 other nerds came together to watch an esports tournament at a football stadium.
I am also interested in, but relatively inexperienced at:
