ABOUT ME
I'm from a small town in North Carolina and consequently have contracted a major wanderlust bug. I enjoy traveling anywhere and experiencing the vast range of cultural and natural history the world offers. As a houseguest, I'm very easy to get along with and don't need much, just a place to lay my head. I went to UNC-Chapel Hill, majoring in Anthropology and minoring in Environmental Science. Since graduating, I've been working around the country (check out my blog: youreinnature.blogspot.com), participating in various research projects from Florida to Flagstaff; most recently was a tree climber at NAU. Headed to grad school this fall to explore gene flow in plants!
PHILOSOPHY
Sapere aude.

Music, Movies, and Books
I play drums and dabble in guitar. I listen to lots -- from Zeppelin to Cudi to Snowden to James Blake...and I appreciate any introductions to new music, too.
I read many different types of books and am always receptive to new suggestions. Most recent reads: everything Cormac McCarthy, The Sun Also Rises, Mother Night, American Gods
Movies: The Life Aquatic, Easy Rider, Dancer in the Dark, Reservoir Dogs, The Breakfast Club, Dead Man, The Shining, Dazed and Confused, Fear and Loathing, The Seventh Seal, The Departed, Blues Brothers, 2001, Robin Hood Men in Tights, Fantasia and more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Week long solo hike along Kesugi Ridge in Alaska. Complete Thoreau experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to talk about plants and ecology in general, and feel I could pass on some of this knowledge to interested persons. If you need help in the garden, or with basic woodworking or some basic photography lessons, I could probably be of some assistance. I'd love to learn more about bouldering (just started), any kind of natural history, permaculture, non-partisan politics, entomology, ultra-light backpacking and any kind of handicraft
