ABOUT ME

I'm full of ideas, good and bad, and I'm always looking for a way to test my own resilience as a person. Often I'll even put myself in a situation I know will be particularly challenging and uncomfortable just to watch myself work it out.
I care a lot about understanding myself and the situations around me, so much so that I generally overanalyze the situation I'm in, but feeling confident that I've thought something through fully is how I cope with overwhelming or stressful situations.
I am always interested in making new friends and learning about people who have come a different path from my own, and I am glad to share my story as well.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in growth; in anything that teaches me about myself or the world around me.
Life is a progression. When you're young you make mistakes because you don't know yourself so well, what you want, what you are capable of. But every mistake teaches you about yourself. Mistakes are what we live for, because as soon as you stop making mistakes, you will begin to think that you know everything there is to know about yourself.
You learn most when you face new challenges. So challenge yourself if you still believe there is more to understand.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't really had a couch to host until now so much, but I will be living in New York come August and I will be making my home available then. Until then I just want to see what it is like from the surfer's point of view.

Interests

It'll look kind of meaningless if I just make a broad list of everything I like because it'll seem like I'm just writing anything anyone could like, so I'll try and be specific.

A song with a good bass line.
The moment before the game winning goal.
A painting that I don't fully understand.
A landscape that can't be captured in a photograph.
Observing someone with a talent I don't have.

Getting invited out by strangers.
A picture that captures a person's personality.
Remembering things I had forgotten.
