About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Work work work, save save save, travel travel travel!!!
ABOUT ME
So having tasted backpacking with 4 months in Australia when I was 18 it's taken me another 8 years to don the beautiful thing again - I always seemed to find a reason to stay in the UK - university, work, girlfriends, etc - but now, at the ripe old age of 26 it's time to get back on the road and see the world which I'm doing at the end of October 2010! Currently located in Bath managing a bar (The Velo Lounge - best Latte's in town). I enjoy drinking the finest ales and ciders the west country has to provide, normally in grimey little pubs that play good music.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm going to steal a line from a Divine Comedy song called 'Tonight We Fly' because this is how I want to feel when I eventually kick the bucket:
"When we die, will we be that dissapointed or sad? If heaven doesn't exist, what will we have missed? This life is the best we've ever had"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At present i'm a bit of a CS virgin but am hoping to meet a variety of interesting people on my travels around the world - rest assured I will happily repay the favour when I am back in the UK!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None as such, but I love meeting people on travels and the spontaneous things you can do that you would never do in 'everyday life'. Once on a birthday weekend in Prague with some friends I met an Australian girl who was travelling Europe. I had taken a couple of weeks off work, my friends were heading back to England the next day. "Come with me for a couple of weeks" she said. So I did, friends went off home, I went on to Vienna and Budapest (armed with only 3 days worth of clothes and a weekend bag). Was one of the best trips of my life! I want more things like that!
Interests
Music is my main passion - I play guitar (badly) and regularly go to gigs. Plus it's a great way to get talking to people - bands they've seen, first CDs, most embarrassing album in collection, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sleeping out under the stars by Ayers Rock around a campfire. Incredible!
