ABOUT ME
I'm a pretty friendly guy, a little weird too. Life is too short to live completely within the framework of what is "socially acceptable", right? Anyway, I love to share a good conversation, laugh, and spend time outdoors. I am a student at Northeastern University, and will graduate in 2013. I was born and raised outside of a smallish town in Oregon, but I came to Boston because I wanted to experience something different for a bit. I love tea, exploring, travel, meeting new people, a nice beer, and cooking. I have a hard time making plans for the future, I really just prefer to be spontanious. I'm always up to try something new! I find life very interesting, and love to hear new perspectives on it. If you're going to send me a couch request, tell me something quirky about yourself.
Happy trails.
PHILOSOPHY
Believe in fate. Life throws curves sometimes, so just roll with it.
Experience the serenity of traveling alone.
When building a fire, choose deadwood from a tree, not off the ground.
Smile.
DonâÃâ¬Ãâ¢t use a chisel for anything other than its intended purpose.
Write down your dreams.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting and surfing! My schedule is a little tough, but I take in people whenever I can. I had some GREAT hosts when I was in Europe, and I've been doing my best to give back since then, though it hasn't been easy. I was working in New Jersey for quite some time, and living abroad in China before that.... Time to start back up again?
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Surfed my way through Prague, Berlin, and Amsterdam! Had 3 fantastic hosts, and I've been taking in surfers since then. We've had a few, and it's been a lot of fun.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a big fan of Cormac McCarthy. I also love to watch movies, but can't afford to go out to see them very often... Oh well? As for genre, scary movies really aren't my thing. I prefer comedies, and movies that make you think. Television? Historically, I watch so little of it that I probably wouldn't even own a tv if it wasnt for my roommates...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent 11 days in the Gobi desert. That was pretty cool. The Taj Mahal was sweet too... I also make a dandy loaf of bread.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to cook, I love Oregon, I love music, and quite frankly, many other things. I'm sure we can teach each other plenty.
