À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

Travelin don't change a thing, it only makes it worse, unless the trip you take is in, to change to a different course....-Grace Potter and the Nocturnals

ABOUT ME

I just can't stop moving! I am in a constant state of motion and I love it! I make too many plans and amazingly keep all my promises! I got the Gemini dichotomy though and sometimes I don't make plans at all and love to see what will happen by just letting the situation unfold as it will-sometimes I wonder how I got to be the way I am because my family are quite different in nature! For as long as I can remember I've been trying to balance the traveler inside of me and the responsible student and worker, it's a tough thing to do! I can't tell you how many times I've been tempted to just up and dump everything I'm doing only to book a flight to India or Alaska or Santo Domingo to go and get lost (or found as it may be!)...I'm currently trying to learn spanish and seem to be getting a hang of it-I think the key to learning another language is persistence and patience, and being open to looking like a jackass if you mess up and say something stupid helps-sometimes you just need to be able to laugh at yourself!

PHILOSOPHY

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I LOVE meeting people from all walks of life and have a wide flavorful variety of friends and confidants as well as special circle of close friends who know everything about me and I them. I pride myself on being open, honest and communicating in the truest way possible. I love to bring people together and I feel that community is the single most important thing people can share with one another. that being said, I hope to share the idea that I see on many fellow CS profiles, that I am not just some woman with a couch in a seemingly unfamiliar place, but I am a friend who wants to help a friend out by giving them a place to crash and making them feel right at home!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet but I can't wait to meet some awesome CS folks!

Centres d'intérêt

I love many of the following things in no particular order: flat-track men's and women's roller derby, Cornhole (it's a game like horseshoes-get your mind out of the gutter! haha), electronic music and the grateful dead, funky clothes and accessories like big huge rings, people who are honest but not rude, my husband Kian, the fact that human rights is not a hierarchy and is a right for all people, recycling, making and drinking beer, vegetarian and vegan food, sushi, dancing, singing, playing a little guitar, light and heavy hiking, throwing some earplugs in and reading an entire book in half a day, lazing around and watching Norm Abrams on the New Yankee workshop on public television, The show 'LOST', NPR-National Public Radio, political theory and debate..

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I love live music so I'd have to say one moment where I felt so connected in a community of people was at a Slip show in Cambrige, Massachusetts on 4.21.04 (I even have the recording of this show!) where they did Jeff Buckley's version of Halelujah and everyone broke out into song-the whole place! Everyone was singing along-the band even stopped playing and joined in, and empassioned gospel-like harmonies were being spun and interwoven like a tapestry. Truly amazing.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I would love to teach fellow CouchSurfers about Reiki, Energy and Body work. My husband is a math professor but also teaches Numerology, Herbs and Flower Essences and is a Psychic/Intuitive card reader. We are also open and affirming Christians who believe all are loved.

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

My husband and I are very respectful guests who love to connect with people and share a conversation over a meal and drinks. I'd say we are moderately adventurous (no zip lining or rock climbing for us, please! haha) and extremely interested in other cultures and lifestyles. We hope to offer up our experiences and share our views of the world with our honored and most esteemed hosts.
