About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Life a full life, travel, meet and bring joy to others.
ABOUT ME
I love traveling, meeting people, cooking, teaching and learning. I'm thoughtful, friendly, and down-to-earth. When traveling, I don't typically like to visit 5-star hotels and get the "tourist" experience. I prefer to meet locals, learn their customs, and experience their way of life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For now, I can host on the weekends. I'd also love to meet up for coffee, exploring the area or going to local events.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfing helped me make new friends while living in Costa Rica. Meet ups are fun and I've enjoyed hosting too!
Interests
I speak fluent Spanish and love languages. I'm jumping into Italian this semester, so hopefully I'll be able to add that one soon. I am a translator and am currently pursing a masters in bilingual speech pathology. I also love teaching English to non-native speakers, especially English pronunciation. Travel is always on my mind. I love discovering beautiful places, near and far. Since moving to TX, my love of hiking has been somewhat put on hold, but I'm trying to discover new outdoorsy places with my pups. I enjoy passing time by talking to friends, new and old. I can't get enough of cooking and baking. Reading is something that I love, but haven't been doing too much of.

Music, Movies, and Books
At this moment my favorite book is "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle" by Haruki Murakami. "Lolita" and "Sula" are up there too. Fern Gully will always be a movie that I love, but other favorites are Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, Murder By Death, and Zombieland.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once, I volunteered with a Native American tribe in Talamanca, Costa Rica, called the Bribris. My fellow volunteers and I helped the Bribris build water filters to make river water drinkable. We slept in sleeping bags in a gazebo under the stars. It was magical to listen to such a rare language and to experience their way of life.
Another amazing experience was cooking school in Tuscany. Tuscan women taught us the real Tuscan way of cooking. Something about cooking without recipes using fresh, local ingredients and the love and experience of mom or grandma made it a fantastic experience.
