ABOUT ME

I'm a fun-loving, easy-going guy who's decided to go to the other side of the world (well, almost). I love making friends (and keeping them!), and I enjoy going to new places, eating new food, and meeting new people.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that everyone has inherent value. I doubt that I could find a person who isn't worth getting to know, although sometimes it can be hard to do that. Life is about sharing our experiences and viewpoints with each other and thus enriching our lives, by making good, meaningful friendships.

I try to be pragmatic and direct. I enjoy the abstract to an extent, but I value tactile and concrete experiences.

About to set off on my first backpacking trip, and I hope to meet some cool CSers, and hopefully share rides with them around Australia and New Zealand

I don't have any couch surfing experience yet, but I hope that changes soon!

兴趣

I'm currently trying to develop my skils as a photographer. I'm intrigued by good portraits that can capture, in a single instant, something meaningful about a person. I'm also very interested in landscape photography that can portray drama and an overwhelming sense of beauty.

I love meeting new people and finding out what interests them, and what they care about.

I love movies, and hope to be involved in film production at some point.

I'm an avid comic book reader, and might write a comic book or two if I can buckle down and do it.

Mostly, I just like to be doing things, and explore what's out there.

Music: I'm not really a fan of genres. My favorite musical artists are: Beck, The Black Keys, The Go! Team, Johannes Brahms, The Black Angels, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, The Who, Wilco, The Flaming Lips, DJ Dangermouse, and a bunch of other stuff. It can be hard for me to keep track of it all.

I love film, and hope to be involved in film production at some point.

One of the most amazing things I've seen is the Grand Canyon. When I went I didn't expect much more than a hole in the ground, but simply seeing something so massive and beautiful was awe-inspiring.

I'm interested in learning more about photography. I have some experience in pottery and sculpture and would like to pursue these as well. I'm very interested in craftsmanship, and would like to learn skills like shirtmaking, shoemaking, farming, and anything else that involves building, making, inventing, and such.

Stuff I know: I'm good at organic chemistry, math through calc 2, some biology (minimal, really), and I enjoy cooking and know basic stuff and can make a kicking Indian-style curry or chili.
