About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be at peace with myself, my family, my friends, and the rest of humanity.

ABOUT ME

I am a PhD candidate working on my dissertation in Computer Information Systems. I'm a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) and Division Director, and Professional Registered Parliamentarian (PRP). Don't drink, do drugs or smoke. I am moved by acts of kindness and displays of brilliance. As a scientist, I rely on reason and evidence.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a member of American Mensa, a secular humanist and an active member of the Center For Inquiry, www.centerforinquiry.net. In conjunction with CFI, I am the president of CASE, the Coalition for the Advancement of Science Education, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Education, not superstition, is the key to world peace. I also volunteer with DECA and SkillsUSA,

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have mostly been hosting to date but enjoyed the hospitality of a CS host in DC, Knoxville, and Key West. Held farewell parties, and attended several other area events. Life is good.

If you'll be coming to Florida, request my free "Couch Surfers' Guide to South Florida." Send your email address and I will attach this PDF document in the reply.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a number of guests to date. They have all been terrific. This could get addictive!

Interests

I like to meet people that may share my interests: swimming, SCUBA, hiking, dancing, as well as the arts. I love to read: mostly physics, math, philosophy and general non-fiction. I enjoy probing conversation, and the opportunity to learn from others. I am heavily involved in the Toastmasters organization and the National Association of Parliamentarians.
