CURRENT MISSION

I used to have for my current mission "To meet every single person in the world", then I had two Couchsurfers who exclaimed how unrealistic that was, so I've decided to update that thought...I want to form as many friendships with people as I can.

ABOUT ME

I love stories.

The best moments of my life have played out like they would in a film, be that love, romantic, film noir, etc. If my life, or anyone's can be given as a grand tale, I could listen for hours.

I want to make as many friends as possible and be the best I can be at what I do (teaching and going on adventures). I want everything, but know I need nothing but to be curled up on the couch with a jet-black coffee and a good book.

PHILOSOPHY

It's luck, and it's going to run out.

I will be honest, I'm not truly altruistic in opening up my place to guests. I just like meeting new people and hopefully tipping the karma scale in my favor a bit. Also, you don't need to get me anything or buy me anything to stay with me. You really don't. I mean, hey, I won't say NO, but like...I'm not going to ask for anything. But if you're really that insistent, whole bean coffee would be lovely.

I am an old man. I usually go to bed pretty early on Sunday through Thursday because I have to get up at 5:30a to go hang out with wee ones. I usually am able to spend more time with you on weekends, and go to bed pretty early on weekdays (usually at 9p).

RULES:

Please clean up after yourself.
Please feel free to snack, but do not eat me out of house and home.
Please smoke outside.
Please, if you're going to do drugs, do it away from my apartment (I'm a teacher, you see).
Please, if you have a gun, leave it in your car.
Please park in the street (they WILL tow you).
Please no one under 21. (I teach high schoolers all week, I don't want to come home to more teenagers. No offense.)
Please double, triple, quadruple-check that you have everything before you go. I have been burned in the past and will not mail out lost items.

I have an inflatable air mattress and a fancy futon, with blanket and pillows and all the best amenities.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had over 300 guests and no one has died (to my knowledge)!

兴趣

I like hanging out with kids (I'm a teacher), I feel as though I can make friends with tots really easily because we have about the same maturity level.
I really enjoy traveling! Put me in a car and wake me up when we get there! No, I do enjoy sleeping during long rides (like a puppy or an infant, I know), but I like stopping, taking lots of pictures, and buying things I really don't need to then give away to friends and family.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I was a camp counselor.
I've been to England, Spain, France, Canada, Hawaii, Mexico, Germany (2x), Italy and Alaska, Japan, Thailand, Morocco, Portugal.
I taught a bunch of incredibly crazy Navajo younglings at school in Many Farms, Arizona and now teach a bunch of other crazy, slightly older, Navajo kids in Albuquerque, NM.

I enjoy meeting people who still act like kids. I also like musicians, artists, nerds, goths, geeks, winners, losers, jocks, punks, indie kids, workaholics, alcoholics, germaphobes, aracniphobes, workers, movers, shakers, the bold and the weak.
