CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME
Globetrotting goes back at least two generations in my family, and I'm coming to accept that I may never "settle down" and have a house and a steady job. So far the pattern is to work for a few years and save, then take a year or two off and go wandering. One of the wandering years has just begun! I'd like to use CouchSurfing to connect with local people and learn what life is like in their communities.
I prefer to travel slowly, overland, to see how landscapes and cultures blend into one-another. I love hiking/tramping in the outdoors, and also bicycle riding. Non-smoker/social drinker.
PHILOSOPHY
People should be nice to each other.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I learned about CS from a friend, but haven't had a chance to get too involved yet. I hope that will change soon!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Haven't CouchSurfed yet (as of Jan. 2010) but I've done SERVAS homestays in Denmark and Norway, and did a two month homestay in Japan when I was in college. Besides the prospect of a couch to sleep upon, I'm hoping to connect with people who are interested in cultural exchange.
